In the time we spent in Palenque, most of it was spent waking up with the roosters.
Almost every day we would raise before the sun and go to an open field and pray for the people of Palenque. Just like Jesus would do, waking up early to pray.

4 AM after a night of not sleeping very well because I was really hot and sweaty 4 AM seemed to be unbearable, but I quickly check my selfishness and call on the Lord for his stength to find me quickly. Once we made it to the field I was happy to pray and intercede on the behalf of the people of Palenque. God has called me to serve with all of my heart and it’s my goal to be blessing to the places I get to visit.
In the time I spent in prayer, once I saw an image of an angel over us as we were praying and singing praises. God’s ear was listening to the prayers of His children, that a new generation of believers will raise up and proclaim His great name. Being in Palenque I feel we help to water seeds that have been planted long ago and to pull up weeds for the life that is growing so it can keep on growing.

Jason, our leader/host, has been working with these people for a while now. He has a heart to see this community transformed by God’s love. He explain to us the history of Palenque, becaming the first town that was freed from slavery. He had us intereeding for the people. Preaching in the churches, working in the school and evangelize in the street. Jason wants the people Palenque to have a heart to believe and to dream for big things. Jason was very kind to host and care for us while we were in Palenque. He works hard and prays even harder.
