Well folks today is the day. Today I meet my whole squad that I will be spending the next 11 months with. Today I face so many emotions its hard to decipher what I really feel. Today is the day I open myself up to be vulnerable to so many new things. Today is the day I fully am giving myself over to let God do the great things he has in store for my life. Today is a day of a lot of new things and I am so excited.
Training camp…. well lets see, I believe it can be summed up as this: Learning experience, Fun, Exhausting, Smelly, Worship, Lots of Jesus, and hopefully a shower in there somewhere! In the next 10 days my squad and I will endure lots of team building! We will worship together, laugh together, most likely cry together and whatever else God has in store for us! We will be sleeping in our tents for the first time for most of us! So let us all take a moment of prayer to pray for myself and my squadmates that we find the peace to sleep in the heat and in what I hear is the tropical storm that will be hitting Georgia here very soon!!
During the next 10 days we will be mentally, physically, and biblically prepared to take on the next 11 months in our countries. We are learning to be Missionaries!! How cool is that! I can officially say I am working for Jesus! WOW!!! I hope that in the next days you will keep me and my squad in your prayers that we will open ourselves up to taking it all in and that we do our best in all the obstacles that we face!!!
I will write another blog after training camp to fill you in on what all happens and how it has effected myself!! Can’t wait to share pictures as well of everyone I can now call my family!!! Our team name is Journey of the J, we are the J squad and our color is blue so be expecting an over abundance of blue!!!
I will leave on the note of our team verse Acts 20:24: However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me, the task of testifying to the good news of Gods grace!
