My instagram, twitter, and facebook profiles describe me as, “A lover of sunsets and beautiful words who desires to follow Jesus with reckless abandon wherever He may lead.” That’s a pretty accurate picture of me, but I’ll give you a little more.

I’ve spent the last three years of my life at University of Northwestern studying English. I originally wanted to be an editor, but that dream ended when I took Editing and Proofreading. Even though I had no idea what I wanted to do with it, God led me to stick with my English degree. This past summer, I felt the call to earn a law degree and use it in missions, and it just so happens that English is one of the best Pre-Law majors, who knew? I’m planning on attending Law School after the Race.

I grew up in rural Minnesota, in a town surrounded by cornfields and pork producers. My family includes some of my favorite people. My parents are reformed hippies, and I love them to the moon and back. I have two younger brothers, who are twins. They’re a pair of pretty cool nineteen-year-olds. God’s been a part of my life and my family as long as I can remember, and I’m so thankful for the way my parents taught our family about Jesus.

In the winter, I can usually be found in my favorite Caribou Coffee, and as soon as it’s nice, I’m usually in the grass behind my dorm. If I don’t have homework, I probably have my nose in a book. Fitzgerald is my favorite author, but I will always enjoy a good Shakespeare play. I love fall and walks through the woods, as well as anything you can do on, in, or next to water. Sunset is my favorite time of the day, and I do my best thinking in canoes or on docks. I can be somewhat irrational before my first cup of coffee and I’m terrified of birds.

Someday I hope to use my law degree to help victims out of trafficking or assist refugees in immigration law. But, as an INFP, I’m completely open to whatever and wherever God has for me. I’m just looking forward to the adventure.
