Psalms 34:8 Taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!

This month we are living in Draganesti-Olt, Romania which is a village in the southern part of Romania. Here you will find that less than 0.2% of people in all the southern region of the country are born again Christians. This area is often referred to as the graveyard for pastors and missionaries.

Our squad is partnering with Hope Church for the month. They are a church that believes in the impossible. They believe that the Lord will change the peoples hearts here in Romania. The workers are very few, but the ones that are here give 110%. They don’t let things stop them from sharing the gospel.

A group of us were out in the village one day doing door-to-door evangelism. We were going up and down the streets looking for people who were outside and then we would stop and talk with them. 8/10 times the conversation were short and not very deep. We did get to talk to a couple of people for a long time and hear about their life, view on Christianity, and what they thought of other religions. I would love to share with you the story of the blind woman we met.

It was a hot day in Draganesti-Olt, Romania as my team and I walked up and down the dirt streets in the village. We were on a mission from the Lord to further His kingdom. As we walked, we prayed, “Lord lead us to the people you want us to talk to”. As we were walking we came upon a elderly lady sitting on bench outside of her house. We all felt like the Lord was telling us to go speak with her. When we walk over we quickly realised that she was blind. Almost immediately a team member and I looked at each other and said “God’s going to make her see again”. At that moment the two of us stepped back from the group and started praying for healing. It wasn’t a sweet prayer, No it was a powerful prayer, I felt like I was giving my all to pray for her. I felt the tears running down my cheeks as I pleaded with God to give her the eyes to see.

As the two of us prayed, other two girls talked with the lady, They asked her about her family, her life, then they asked if she knew who Jesus was. She exclaimed with a Yes, and she began to tell them all about Jesus and all He had done for her. Our heart leaped for Joy as we heard her speak about Jesus.

(Here in Draganesti-Olt many people know about Jesus, but they haven’t accepted Him into their lives, Which is the key to a personal relationship. They are missing the salvation.)

One of the girls asked the key question to the blind lady, she responded that she had not accepted Christ. Then she said something that took our breath away, she said “I wish I could see the gold thats running our of your mouths”. The two girls who were talking with her began telling her the story from Matthew 8 when Jesus healed the blind man. As they told the story tears started streaming down her face. After the story and more conversation, one of the girls asked her if she wanted to accept Christ into her life. In the cutest Romanian voice she said Da (Yes). So right there on the side of a dirt road in Romania, she ask the Lord to come into her life.

The whole time people were talking with the blind woman my team member and I had been praying that this blind woman would see again. We thought we were praying for physical healing to see, but instead our prayers were for spiritual healing to see. The blind woman saw Jesus in way she had never before.

She may not see the world around her, but she sees Jesus Love for her and now had a personal relationship with Him.

Praise the Lord,

Somedays I just say “I think I’m high on Jesus”. This is just one of many stories that has shown the power of the Lord. I’m just so in awe of all He is doing.
