For a recent team time we drew a name out of a hat and had to write a blog for that person to post! Heres what one of my girls (Anna Katherine) wrote about me!
cassie
The first time i met cassie was at training camp. I tried to block most of training camp out of my memory, but I do remember Cassie! I remember thinking how amazing it was that she would take the time out of our life to lead and guide us… and redo training camp for us! Throughout how scared I was to be starting something new, Cassie brought a constant peace.
While in Costa Rica, Cassie helped us transition to what life on the field is like- and that takes a lot of patience and understanding. She was there as a backbone to help anyone who was struggling, all while dealing with her own struggles. She sacrificed so much time and energy for us. And generously gave away grace! So many times I saw her sacrifice her time by cleaning up after people or staying up late to make sure everyone got to bed. I know cleaning up after 50 people can be very frustrating, but she did it with grace! Cassie gave us all someone who was stable and loving to start the race with- not just because she’s our leader, but because of who she is!
JOY. If you know Cassie, you know she RADIATES it. The only time I don’t see a smile on her face is… well i’m not really sure when that is. Her joy and sweet smile is so contagious. When I think of Cassie I think of the way her face lights up when she’s talking about something she loves. She can’t help but spread the love and joy of Christ to others. A vessel of joy!!!
Cassie is amazing because I know she puts the Lord first. With all of her decisions or no matter what she’s feeling, you can tell that she puts the Lord first. She’s eager to follow His plan, which is a great example for me of how to trust God. Anytime you ask her what her future plans are, she always says something along the lines of, “Whatever God has planned for me.” So much faith!!! The fact that she wants to become the woman God is calling her to be, inspires me!
These days, Cassie remains a constant in my life. Constantly there to talk. Constantly there to serve. Constantly there to pour out. Constantly there to give me joy. Constantly there to love all of us!!!
Cassie, I lucked out to have you as my leader. I lucked out to have you as my friend! I’m thankful to do life with you. God out did himself when He gave me you??
I love you
