Going into training camp I had heard many different things.
“Training camp was awesome!”
“Training camp was the worst 10 days of my life.”
“You get what you put into it.”
“Bring extra food.”
“Training camp was a great bonding experience.”
The night before training I was sitting on my bedroom floor with two of my squad members watching multiple training camp videos trying to wrap our minds around what we were about to do.
I don’t think anyone can really prepare for training camp, you just gotta trust that it’s preparing you for God’s mission.
Just coming out of training camp I can honestly say it was some of the hardest ten days I’ve experienced but yet some of the most fulfilling days.
Our days consisted of community food, bucket showers, tent nights, hose water, red dirt, physical activity, bonding, laughing, crying, worship, dance parties, port a potties, and everything in between.
I had the opportunity to meet my amazing leaders, I love each and every one of them dearly.
I had the opportunity to meet my amazing squad members. They were no longer little pictures on my phone screen, but actual people smiling and talking right in front of me.
I’ve never bonded with a group of people as quickly as I have with these people.
Training camp taught me how to have a wholehearted “yes” spirit, and to have an open heart to anything that is placed before me.
I’ve had God answer so many of my prayers this week, through people or words that were spoken.
I got tatted. Surprisingly, it didn’t hurt as bad as I had expected.
I met my team of seven that I will spend the next couple of months with.
I attained a Chaco tan.
Training camp is definitely something that I am thankful to experience.
Now being home I am excited for my launch, but meanwhile treasuring this time with my family and friends…and sleep.
Prayers are accepted while I’m on this journey for me and my squad members because we all know this isn’t easy and wouldn’t be possible if God wasn’t involved.
Thank you and God bless.
