“How have you seen or experienced God in a new ways this month?” This is a question we get asked each month and this time, my answer almost surprised even me!

Over the past several months, I have been asking God to let me know and see Him in new ways. I’ve been a Christian most of my life and am very familiar with what goes on within the church..at least, the American (or Canadian) church circles I grew up in, but I want more. I want to see and know God outside of the church. We read in the Gospels about Jesus healing sick and lame people, performing miracles and casting out demons. That’s the God I want to be up close and personal with!

My role on the Race has changed this month. For the remainder of the year, I will be serving on a leadership team as a Squad Leader. While I will still get to be a part of local ministries, my main ministry will now be my squadmates. In preparation for this role change, I have spent this month doing some training. On the last day, we veered off of the curriculum to talk about Deliverance – as in, getting rid of demons. This is something that has always fascinated me, but I’ve never really known a whole lot about.
We talked about possession, strongholds, attacks – all the things. Our mentor even shared some personal stories of when she was had cast out demons. My intrigue increased and I had a sense that I needed to pay close attention – that this was something God was going to use in, or through, me.

Fast forward five days and, sure enough, I was able to sit in a room and, through the power of the Holy Spirit, engage in some spiritual combat.
That’s the God I’ve been searching for. The One who does unexplainable things that are beyond my grasp of understanding!

So, how have I seen or experienced God in new ways this month? I’ve seen him deliver people from things they’ve struggled with for years. I’ve operated in the power of His Spirit like I never have before. I’ve realized and utilized the authority I have in Jesus Christ. I have seen, firsthand, the spiritual realm and experienced how Jesus wins.

There are so many aspects of God that this question is always valid. How are you experiencing God in new ways? I can’t wait to see how I get to answer that next month.
