Hey.

Melissa.

A year ago (October 20th) you wrote a blog called “Hello From The Other Side”  ! Do you remember that?! I know that you still remember that day in June where you sat in the office, plans changed. I know you remember all of those really hard therapy sessions. Do you remember when you thought that you’d never get out of the pit that you found yourself in? Do you remember finding yourself on the other side of it?!

In the last few months, you’ve walked in freedom that you didn’t know what possible. Freedom from shame, freedom from rejection, freedom from fear! You’ve walked in boldness, in grace, in love – all of which you never knew you could… You had lost yourself before, but girl! You found yourself now!

Funny to think that the counselor release was the freedom you thought you needed. You hadn’t seen anything yet, dear one! The Lord was just getting started, like a silversmith working away!

That list that was delivered to you, upon your deferment, the one the enemy intended to destroy you, God used for your good and His glory!! (Genesis 50:20) You learned how to live with healthy relationships and boundaries, you learned to feel those feels and be okay with them, you learned so much in those hour sessions.

It took you a while to commit your heart back to the Race, the thing you thought once hurt you but man, are you running the run now! You said, ” “We do not truly receive any gift until we take hold and make it our own. This includes Jesus’ grace.”” <— you took that grace and ran with it! Look at you in Month 3! Hollllla!

Melissa, it’s a honor to look back and see where you were then and where you stand now. Keep doin’ the thing!

“So. Here is to taking hold of that grace, of that peace that surpasses all understanding! Here is to taking leaps, being super vulnerable, and allowing Jesus the space to do some big work from the inside out! Here is to Spring, that comes after a cold and bitter Winter, that brings new life and new beginnings.

Here’s to the Race!”

(Hey Debbie, if you’re reading this, you should know what an honor it was to have you walk alongside of me during some of my darkest hours! Couldn’t have gotten here without you!)
