524 days ago, I was a wide-eyed girl from small town, Alabama standing in front of the ‘Departures’ sign at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport with only my pack, my dreams, and the power of the Holy Spirit.

I had no clue what I (or rather what the Lord) had signed myself up for – but I knew that there had to be more. There had to be more to life than just ‘settling down’ or ‘starting a life of my own’.

524 days later, and I still have an issue with these things – you see, God did not create me to settle down, He designed me to shake things up for His Kingdom. He has called me to live a radical life of faith in sharing about Jesus, whether in working a nine to five in the States or in living in a hut in Cambodia’s slums. The issue in ‘starting a life of my own’ is that this life will never be my own – I am fully His.

Somewhere along the way, I gave up control and developed a hard-core dependency on my Holy Father. I am confident in the fact that my life will never be settled and it will always be surrendered.

524 days later, I am still that wide-eyed girl from small town, Alabama – but those eyes are no longer my own, and my perspective goes way beyond that beautiful small town.

When God called me to Squad Lead, I never dreamt it would turn into another eleven-month journey. I did know that God had promised me abundantly more, and boy did He ever deliver on that promise.

Today is day 161 on the field Squad Leading – our halfway mark, and today I am overwhelmed with how much God has moved in and through the people that I get to call my family and my squad. Collectively, we have led people in giving their lives to the Lord, we have witnessed people healed from sickness, we have washed the feet of the broken, we have poured into the local church, we have brought Light to the darkness, and we have baptized, loved, and discipled Believers. We have been English teachers, actors, preachers, dancers, worship leaders, evangelists, painters, cooks, janitors, and friends all in the name of sharing God’s Goodness. Today, I am celebrating because God is still alive and He is bringing revival through X Squad.

At the end of the day we are only clay jars, but wow do we hold a beautiful, mighty, and powerful treasure.

Have you ever had the thought that there has to be more to life than this? The good news is that we have a God completely accessible to us who is in the business of immeasurably more (Ephesians 3:20). I know that the Holy Spirit wants to move in you, no matter where in the world you are – will you let Him?

Here’s to the next 161 days living here in the Abundantly More!
