It’s been a while since I posted a blog. To be completely honest, not much in my life has been blog worthy since coming off of the field in March. I’ve been unemployed, living with my parents, and letting God do the work in me that he has needed to. It’s not my proudest moment, at 28, when I tell people what I have been doing, but it’s the reality of where God has had me. It’s been a season of growing trust and learning about the grace-filled Father heart of God.
Being the God of grace and delight that he is, he has given me another opportunity to do the thing that I love so much; lead others into deeper places of intimacy and identity all while traveling overseas on the mission field. In the middle of January I will have the opportunity to lead a World Race Semesters trip for 3 months.
This trip is slightly different than the previous trips I’ve been involved with. WR Semesters is a program for college-age students to take a semester off of school (or a break from whatever they are doing) and spend 3 months on the mission field getting hands on experience and growing in intimacy with Jesus. I don’t know where I am going quite yet, but some trips stay in the same place for all 3 months and some travel to 2 or 3 countries.
I’m excited for the chance to influence and lead a slightly younger age group. I have had a passion for 18-22 yr olds since I was an RA in college and I know the impact that taking a semester and focusing on missions, community, and Jesus can have in the steps you take in the future. My own experience similar to this in college launched me to be where I am today.
I also am slightly anxious about stepping out into this new role in a program that I haven’t been a part of before. With that, I could use all of the prayer that you want to send my way. Prayers for greater trust, solid footing in my identity, and for lives to be transformed. Your prayers have been my greatest resource over the last 3 years.
With leading comes fundraising again. I am still waiting on exact numbers of what I need to raise, but if you would begin prayerfully asking God if you should support me during this time I would be so grateful. I know I have to raise significantly less than I have in the past, but I am still in need of people to come around me and support me. It’s because of you that I have been able to serve God so faithfully. I am merely the instrument that he uses, but you have made each and every opportunity happen. Thank you.
If you are interested in receiving my email newsletter (and haven’t in the past) please comment your email address below and I will get you added to that list. My newsletter comes out about every 2 weeks while on the field (hopefully/internet willing), and includes more details about what is happening.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for continuing to support, love and stand by me as I live out this journey.
