Don’t worry Momma, it is not in Thailand, Cambodia, or Vietnam. ‘Home is where the heart is’ is the old idiom that everyone knows. So, where is your home?
Do you picture a building, or a people group, or even a person?
Up until recently I would have described a scene of the Odom family Christmas. All the people I love gathered together in a joyous season. This WAS my home. Don’t get me wrong I love them all and they are in my heart but my home has shifted.
My home has become the Father’s lap. God loves me enough to dwell with me and now I finally love him enough to dwell with Him, too. He is my place of rest after a 105° Cambodian day or a rainy Thai night. No matter the circumstances I have a place that brings me joy, comfort and love that is so vast that He keeps blowing my mind.
Brothers and Sisters, we are loved. He wants to be our shelter. To protect us. And comfort us. Why are we denying this amazing blessing? Nothing in creation can compare with the God of the Universe embracing you in a big bear-hug. I will never put anything before this relationship ever again. Everything I have is a gift from Him and ‘is’ His and everything I do have is to make me more like Him.
The God-man, Jesus, my big brother, the Savior King of all creation wants to spend personal time with us. To tell us secrets that bring him joy and reveal the glorious splendor of the Father. This is the #1 relationship in my life. And I pray, for your blessings, that it is the #1 relationship in your life too.
