So, in case you haven’t noticed, I haven’t really had much internet this month. We do have to communicate back with people in states and sometimes that requires internet. So, the internet went out at our ministry site, so we have had to leave to get internet and that is where the search begins.
On Tuesday, we found out the school supplies place down the road has internet. So a few of us went to try and post journey markers (a google doc that AIM uses to check in with us while we are on the field) for our teams. However, when we got to the school supplies place the girl that was working there didn’t know the password to let us use the wifi. So we walked back to our ministry site and called a taxi to go into the the town near us to get internet. We got into the town and the guy at the internet cafe told us that the internet and power was out all over the town. Each day since then we walked down to the store to see if we can get on the internet, but it hasn’t been open since.
Yesterday, Thursday December 22, 2016, A few of my teammates and I walked down and sat outside to see if we could connect to the internet while sitting outside. While we were sitting on the sidewalk a man name Noe (or Noah in English) approached us and started speaking to us in perfect in English. As it turns out Noe had lived-in the US for about 15 years and loved the states. He wanted to talk to us so that he could practice his english. We were able to talk to him about Christ and it turns out that he was a Christian, but wasn’t involved in a church and wanted God to come and help him get his life back together. We were able to encourage him that Christ died for him to have a relationship with God and that God sees us wherever we are, and that He will us turn our life around even if we are not currently going to church. We were able to pray with him for a better job and that he just tells everyone around about Jesus.
As I am writing this blog (December 23, 2016) we still haven’t found wifi so I’m sure this blog will be posted a few days from now.
Please join me in keeping Noe in your prayers for him to form a closer relationship with God and also for a better job.
