Overall, Costa Rica was a great month, and I am so excited that this was our first month on the race. It is surreal that month 1 is over, and that we are at month 1 debrief is here. This month we taught school at Zoe International, which there is a funny story about this to follow.
So funny story here: God and I had a good conversation before I applied to the race and my exact words to Him were “Ok, I’ll do the World Race, if I am not on an all girls team and I don’t have to teach school.” Month 1: I am on an all girls team and I taught school. I absolutely love my team and wouldn’t trade my all girls team for the world. However, teaching is still struggle for me. Moral of the story: Don’t bargain with God because 1. He has the ultimate plan and knows what’s best and B. if you do bargain with God, there is a chance that He gives you the opposite of what you ask for if its what is best for you.
This month I have also learned so much about myself like that God speaks to me through very vivid dreams ( I am still digging into this). I have also really learned how to prefer my relationship with my team and what a healthy community looks like when I’m living in it. Long story short: I am not the same person that left the states a month ago.
I’m so excited for the next month or 10 of the race. We are now in Nicaragua finishing up month 1 debrief and will be heading to ministry tomorrow morning. If you would like to stay up to date on my blog just hit the subscribe button and enter your email or phone number!
