By this time we will be entering our last leg of the race. We will be EIGHT months in, and will be making our trek from Europe down to Africa. So, what will our last three months look like?

Botswana
Although it’s one of the most sparsely populated countries in the world, Botswana has the second highest HIV infection rate, next to Swaziland. The land itself struggles with drought and desertification yet one national park boasts the largest elephant population in the world. The majority of the people identify themselves as Christians.

South Africa
While it’s been several decades since apartheid formally ended, there is still more healing and reconciliation to take place in South Africa. This is one of the wealthiest countries on the continent, yet much of the population living outside the cities is poor. Like the rest of the sub-Saharan Africa, this country struggles with a high rate of HIV/AIDS. Host to the 2010 World Cup and breathtaking natural attractions, it’s also a place full of kingdom potential.

Swaziland
The Kingdom of Swaziland is one of the last remaining monarchies in Africa. Home to 1.1 million people, it has the highest HIV/AIDS infection rate in the world (26.1% in adults, but 50% of adults in their 20s). It’s estimated that by 2050, Swaziland may cease to exist. Young orphans are scattered throughout this nation in desperate need of attention. For years, Adventures has been committed to seeing these statistics reversed. Here, we’ll most likely be involved in a variety of outreaches, including education, orphan care and care point feedings.

Well there ya have it. We’ve now traversed through 11 countries, 3 continents, islands, deserts, over mountains and through many bodies of water. What an incredible journey this will be.

Please join me in praying for my entire squad.
We’re sitting a just about 30 people prepping to head out in January. Though we’re all at different points in our fundraising, we all still have funds to raise and need help. This is a daunting task that we all undertook when we decided to simply say “Yes” when God called us to the mission field.
