Hello everyone! We just finished up our third debrief, which brought several changes for my squad. I want to give y’all a quick update on what’s been going on in the last week!
World Race Race
My squad is half way through the race, so we decided to celebrate with a half marathon! I’ve been training for this for about 3 months now, so I’m glad that the race day finally arrived. The half was about 90% hills. Yes, you heard me right. It was BRUTAL but I’m so glad I did it! I’ve been training with Hillarie since Cambodia, so it was only fitting that we ran the whole thing together.
Team changes
Yep. The time has finally come to mix up the teams a little (or a lot). I am still on a team with my girl Allison, but besides that things look pretty different. I am on a team of 6 and we consist of 3 girls and 3 guys. That’s right, I’m on a co-ed team now! I have to remember what it’s like to live with guys around.

New roles on the team
For the last 6 months I have been the team treasurer and squad finance coordinator (fancy words for meaning I checked in on all the other team treasurers). I have enjoyed this job, but that will no longer be my position. Instead, I was asked to be a team leader. This means I’ll be in closer contact with some of the leadership as well as communicating more with our hosts each month. I’m stoked to change things up and take on a different role. Also, my team is so stacked that it’s going to make leading a piece of cake.
Final fundraising deadline
My las financial deadline is this weekend and I need to raise just $202 to be FULLY FUNDED! I cannot believe that this long and crazy process is coming to an end. I’m so incredibly thankful for each and every one of you that has supported me financially and through prayer.
On to month 7
This month my team is living in Manzini, Swaziland with 2 other teams. We are actually working with an international AIM base and will be doing a variety of ministries. I’ll be here for about 3 weeks before heading to a different location to meet my parents for the parent vision trip! I’m so excited!! I’ll be posting again soon with a blog that goes into more depth about what our ministry looks like this month.
I’m so looking forward to all of the changes going on. Since I’m just past half way through this journey it can be easy to get stuck in a rut, but these changes have prevented me from letting this happen. Once again, thank you all so much for the love and support you’ve shown me. I know that I could not be doing this without you!
