Honduras was a month of purpose for my team. A purpose to be like a fountain. Every day being filled up and replenished by the Lord to continue to pour out to others we met throughout the day. To treat each one like Jesus, no matter the circumstance. This is what God shared with me at the end of the month. This month has challenged my team in tremendous ways. Ways in which we won’t even begin to see the fruit of until the coming months of the race. Through my teammate Brittany starting a GoFundMe account, we were able to fundraise our goal of $250- and donate school and kitchen supplies to the school we volunteered at! God is so good in providing this and the teachers and students will benefit from the supplies tremendously.

The kids from La Roca getting in one last picture as we said goodbye. We may have been more of a distraction from school for them, but they’re so joyful and silly we couldn’t help it.

Things I learned this month:

  • Rejoice when things don’t go how you planned because God has something better planned
  • You can wear jeans in 90 degree weather and still survive
  • I can brew my own fresh ginger tea on the stove top
  • Just because someone speaks English doesn’t mean they are always a safe person to talk to
  • Tough conversations create space for humility and growth
  • Respect for myself and awareness of my identity in Christ is my rock through any tough situation
  • Ants like to make nests in large rock piles and cement blocks
  • Toilet paper is still thrown in the trash not the toilet
  • Fasting is a spiritual discipline that requires great prayer and focus on God along with a goal  outcome for spiritual growth in the end
  • Keep a look out for Jesus in everyone
  • Friendship can always be made through language barriers
  • God will ALWAYS provide for our needs, but we have to also die to our wants

Surprise visit from our friends we met from the ministry at the airport to say goodbye one last time before we left for Chile. They both spoke only Spanish but were both so determined to communicate and serve along side us in any way they could.

We jumped on a plane to Chile, spent the night in the airport and are now in Santiago! It’s a 1 hour time difference from the East coast. This month is Unsung Heroes month meaning my team will be traveling the Southern most part of Chile to meet with new ministry contacts! We will be asking and seeking the Lord’s direction to find new ministries in hopes they would like to partner with the World Race and host teams. We will also be reaching out to known contacts and establishing with them what it looks like to have a World Race team volunteer with them. It will involve a lot of traveling, prayer, patience, grace, failure and anticipation! Team Dauntless is ready!

> Prayers still for my teammate Ashley Allison who is home recovering from a fractured tailbone at the beginning of our month 2 in Nicaragua. She’s healing and God’s given her a mission mindset and ministry back at home for the time being.
