My first post as a WORLD RACER!!

WOW.

God is so faithful!

You’re probably wondering… How did I get here?? – Me too 😉

Almost 11 months ago to the date, I was laid off from my position as a medical device sales rep. I was broken and burned out. I was forced to accept what I could only see as defeat. I was embarrassed and humbled. I struggled for months to regain a sense of direction, a sense of purpose.

But in the midst of all the frustrating circumstances beyond my control, I knew in my heart that it was God moving in my life. In His subtle ways, He was assuring me this was part of His plan and I would be OK. I just needed to trust Him.

I took advantage of the time God gave me and I traveled to Haiti with Mariner’s Church back in May. It was on that trip, on my last full day in country playing with the 52 orphans at the Glory Glory Center and being baptized on the shores of southern Haiti, when I realized there is more I can do. There’s more I can do to serve both God and others around the world, to be a light in the dark places, to uncover and meet the needs of others, to provide unconditional love and hope. I discovered a passion on that trip to Haiti which lead to the decision to apply for the World Race.

Now, 11 months after my layoff, I find myself rapidly preparing for my 11 month journey to 11 different countries in an effort to share God’s message of love and hope to those I meet along the way! An experience I would not have stepped out in faith to do had I still been in the comfort and supposed security of a corporate job… what a blessing in disguise! “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28)

So here we go! I have 3 months to fundraise and prepare for my trip!! Thank you so much for partnering with me!! Your prayers, encouragement and financial support are an integral part of this journey! LET’S DO THIS!! 🙂
