My name is Stephanie! Most people call me Below or Red. I was born in a small town in Central Florida called Ocala. More like Slooowcala! It was overpopulated with Elderly people and horses! I grew up going to Church, assorted church camps, and youth groups. It has only been in the last 2 years that I have realized what It means to be a Christian. God took the broken pieces of my life and put them together more beautifully. I constantly stand in awe of how he pulls things together for the good of those who love him, those called according to his purpose. I know I have a purpose. When I was 3 I suffered from a grand mal seizure that almost took my life, and should have. The doctors told my parents I would not make it and if I did my quality of life would be that of a vegetable. After 3 weeks I woke up from a comatose state and had to relearn everything, how to eat, hold a spoon, talk, walk, even sit up in bed. God had different plans for me.
I graduated from Tallahassee Community College with a degree in Radiological Technology. I take X-rays! Before World race I was employed at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital working in Cat Scan which is a special modality of X-rays. I recently have received my CT certification and am now dual certified in 2 modalities, which means I have better opportunitys ahead if I choose to work in the medical field again. I worked with a local church in my spare time as a youth intern, just loving on kids and doing my best to disciple them and teach them what it means to be a Christ follower. On Wednesdays I would volunteer at the local high school in a special needs class. My best friend is their teacher, in my eyes its a 2 birds one stone kind of thing. I get to hang out with my BF and love on her precious angels. We often took them on field trips, competed in special Olympics activities and laughed ALWAYS. Those kids have my heart and seeing their smiling faces makes my day better and my smile a little bigger. I also volunteered in FCA (fellowship of Christian Athletes)and enjoy spending time with students at school.
I don’t wake up with perfect hair. I’d much rather have a big mac than a salad. I’d pick sweats and a t-shirt over a dress and heels any day. I’m loud and proud. I loooove Music! It makes me feel free and at peace. I am an imperfect person, loved by a perfect God. I am fearfully and wonderfully made. I love being on the water and spending time with my friends and family. I am an avid sports fan, and lover of Gator football. I am a workout guru and spend a lot of time at the gym or in a crossfit class. I love being outdoors and trying new things. Some of my hobbies include fishing, hunting, playing softball, and cooking. I love laughing and making people laugh. I could watch movies for hours, and I love getting caught up in a good book. I love traveling, meeting new people, and tasting new food. I am surely a glass half full type of person and I try to always be optimistic. I am extremely extroverted and have a bubbly personality. I am very easy going, enthusiastic, and I love this beautifully messy life and those I live it with! I am an open book! I am simple, I give a lot, and expect little in return. I went to Ecuador last summer and the Dominican Republic recently and the people there stole my heart. I know God is using me for kingdom advancement and I’m trying my best to live like Jesus and share his love with anyone I can. As you following along with me on my Journey I ask that you would pray. Pray for lives to be changed, hearts to be transformed, and that God would use us to our full potential to spread his love.
