UPDATE: I’ve quit. I’ve moved. I’m going to OKC & ATL. & I have ALL my gear.
I am honestly so in awe of God’s goodness and favor. Before February I didn’t have a clue of what the world race was. Now here I am four months later and I am not only letting people give me immunizations, but also paying them to do it, living at home, and have quit my job! I feel like God has blessed my trip because of an obedience to go on this trip! God has completely provided ALL of my gear for this trip! I am so excited to head to training camp with everything I need for the race. (so I think…)
Tuesday I packed up my room full of clothes, books, and my keurig — got in my car and drove to Hesperia like I had done hundreds of times. Quitting a job I had been at for almost 3 years was a very difficult decision. In the end I would rather live at home and spend time with my family before I leave for 11 months, than to take a few trips and have to work just to pay my rent in Ventura.
It is hard to believe in two short months I will be on my way to the other side of the world. For the most part I have always had my life planned out. Monthly, I always kept track of trips back home, vacation, and conferences. In February, I had this urge to wait on planning the latter part of the year. There started becoming ideas of weddings, parties, and trips, but I just kept it open. I listened and kept everything available. Now I have almost every square in my calendar marked until the day I begin my race. Come September my Itinerary isn’t up to me anymore. I am so happy to have the opportunity to volunteer, teach, encourage, play, and lead with the natives of 11 different countries in Asia!
I want to say THANK YOU! I need to hit my 10,000 mark by mid August. I have reached 6,500 of that goal! It has been hard for me because I joined the race a little later than most did. I am completely trusting in Him to provide the rest of this money before I reach my deadline date! #lauratothenations bracelets are still for sale for $5!
