For the past week, I stayed with Unkown Heights a team of 7 amazing wonderful woman. Each one of them had their own wisdom and they all had a “yes” in their spirit! They stayed in the house of the host and I stayed at the uncle’s house, which is just a walk away. Each night we would have a meal, some games, a team time and just good fellowship. After the party ended I would go home. This week I was leaving my phone in my room and staying present so I had no light source. What did walking in darkness look like?
Good night, Good night, I had said my good byes to the team. I turned myself away from the house of lights. Ahead of me was now darkness, shadows and big trees. I only had the knowledge from daylight that there is a path. “Baby steps, lift the feet high,” I said to myself and off I went. The lights fading and the blackness consuming my sight. Step by step, I follow the tree line. “Eyes please adjust,” I said to myself.
Walking further I can now only see a tree line to my right and a tree to my left, but I know I have found the path. Zoom zoom, bark bark, a dog zips by me. “Hey,” I quickly think no need to scare me, then I thought “how come you arent scared of the dark? Can you see?”
The ditch, I knew the path had a ditch, rocks and up and down my feet go, slowly and only half trusting in each step. I had passed the ditch of darkness. My eyes adjust a little seeing more trees and a fence. If there was anything on the ground I would surely not see any creatures at night. I keep going slowly and slowly, there it is a small barn ahead I can actually see something. What’s next, the horse makes a noise and the goat makes a noise. Soon the uncle’s dog started barking at me! “Dont you know I am already scared, cant you see me!?” Then I think of the dogs fears and whistle and call him out by name. I keep walking he sniffs me and leaves me be. More hope shining from the ground, a flat concrete path is in front of me! Again, it feels another dim light has been put on, in reality my eyes are adjusting and I am getting closer to home! I turn the corner and the house has a streak of light cutting the darkness and erasing my fear. I still can’t see the path but I can see the destination! I get to the door, a puppy greets me and I am home. A home away from home, a light in a dark place.
Sometimes the Lord asks us to walk in faith and by sometimes I mean all the time! Life can feel dark at times, it can feel a lot of things actually. To stay away from the fences and from the ditches and from the dogs. To stay on the path and to know God is going before and after me!
Panama has been amazing so far, wonderful people, culture and weather.
Working on a coffee farm, planting, roasting, weeding and lots of prayer! The host welcomed us with open arms and treating me like family. An extra blessing, they even took us to some waterfalls, mountains and a church.
I am blessed and still learning to fight for community!
Set your gaze on the path before you. With fixed purpose, looking straight ahead, ignore life’s distractions . Watch where you’re going! Stick to the path of truth, and the road will be safe and smooth before you. Don’t allow yourself to be sidetracked for even a moment or take the detour that leads to darkness.

Pray for the people on my team and squad, we have a week left in Panama and then will be moving to a new continent! Pray that I can keep pouring out and for daily conversations with locals about the love of Jesus and the Kingdom we have now!
