The story of the blue inside church.

There’s a church in costa rica thats six years old, the church stands in a small town called terraba. Surrounded by banana trees, flowers and insects of every kind, most are super beautiful!

I Justin, Erik, Zane, Nicholas, Bradley, and Jeffrey had the opportunity to go sleep inside the church and help any way we could for a month. I want to share the day we had the opportunity to paint the church.

After a week or two being at the church where we lived in. The building we slept in, worshiped and had church. We were told we were going to paint the inside, knowing the inside of the church i quickly judged. The church doesnt need painting! The church is a beautiful blue inside. Following the instructions anyway, we followed a church volunteer who found us paint and brushes, we than went inside. I had a paint brush in hand and there they were. White spots that were worn, faded even scrapped from people using the church. (Often God only shows us something when he and us are ready to work on that thing)

I had seen the church wall multiple times now looked in need of some blue paint. We painted and painted, first with a small brush just hitting the actually white spots. Than the leader said, “no, use the rollers do all of it” <– obviously that part was actually in spanish with mostly hand gestures.

So we painted more and more getting behind doors behind the podium and getting chairs to reach the top of the wall. We did not have to get everything but what we did made the whole inside of the church like new.

A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.
Proverbs 11:25

The Lord was teaching me in these moments that is my purpose many times.

The world race gets to show up and paint encouragment to a brother and sister in the church, break bread, pray, and to love another brother and sister in christ.

What an honor and privilege to follow the Lord! How can you refresh a church a neighbor a family member.

Praying for you and thanks for reading, I pray that you get to see something blue today!
