the air was thick and my nose excited for the smell of rain that I assumed would come fast. My state was Exhausted, hungry, tired, and spiritually filled and ready for the next adventure we had just gotten back from a 2 day 19 mile man hike along the Appalachian trail. We arrived back at camp around 4 and we were commissioned that fifty people would be making shelter, food fellow shipping together for the night!!
Couple of the high lights! The rain poured down in buckets with thunder in the air. We hung three tarps inbetween trees and we put tarps on the floor. Then more people showed up and it was a small town ranging from a marriage counselor to pastor to navy man. I soon shared the joy of wanting a fire and then the rain see’ers explained the low chance of success! But my buddy Eric was by my side and we were trying, with slow progress and a big card board box Eric went to town to make it happen. A fire needs 3 thinking oxygen material and a spark similar to things we need to follow God. Soon a buddy Jared comes with a material that will burn no matter what and this allows for more and more success and soon a fire is growing steaming out the wet logs, then igniting them then heating the people around the fire! Soon dead trees have so much purpose so much heat and have brought us joy! Eventually I was able to grill chicken and some vegetable and the rain stops and I sleep under the stars and next to a fire learning about people and praying for people. This was training camp for me! Sometimes crazy sometimes warm, but God was in the center of everything and I’m so thankful for all the missionaries who poured into my squad! Tom and Kathy, Ashley, Melinda, Vanessa, Mr. T, Joanna, and Benjamin. Pray that God continues to use them! Thanks Justin out, I heard a joke, if a farmer boy goes into a country pf India. where his “God is holey” and the country thinks “cows are holey”. .. What is the difference?
The real holey one has holes in their hands…!!
