I love the ocean. Being on the race has magnified my love for the deep blue sea. There’s something magical about being in the presence of God’s beautiful creation. The Lord has revealed to me more about His unconditional love as I have spent more time in the vast bodies of water.
There’s a certain amount of risk that comes with swimming in the ocean. There are countless unidentified creatures lurking the depths of the vast unknown, creatures that are rather dangerous and frightening. We have every right to be a bit wary of diving into the seas, but if we stay on the shore, we’ll never give ourselves the opportunity to experience the unprecedented feeling of drifting with the crashing waves and being washed with saltwater.
Hear me friends. If we live in the false misconceptions we’ve created and the fear of the unknown, we’re missing out on and depriving ourselves of fully living the lives God created us to live. We will never know what it feels like to be fully loved if we don’t allow ourselves to be vulnerable.
The same can be said about wading in the ocean filled with creatures like sharks or jellyfish- trying not to get stung by a jellyfish is part of the adventure. Risk yourself on love. It means diving into the unknown, where the dangers are great but the rewards are greater.
