How beautiful are the stories of those who have given their lives to Christ. The pages of these books are brimming with His glory- their lives reveal the majesty of our King.
Each day, new books are being added to the Lord’s library. Whenever a new book is stacked, heaven rejoices. What a joy and an honor it is to be able to share the love of God with someone who has never heard of the greatest love story of all times, to be able to witness the light come to life in their eyes.
Before leaving for the World Race, I read stories of racers who went from door to door sharing the Gospel. Frankly, I was terrified. I had never told someone about God who hadn’t heard of Him before. I lived in fear- fear that I would say the wrong thing or that people would reject me. It was selfish, I realize now that I was more concerned about making a fool of myself than I was about stepping out in faith and sharing the love of my Savior.
In a small village in the Malealea Valley, we were sent out in pairs to go from house to house sharing the Gospel. My heart was racing as I was finally faced with the fear that I had been avoiding for so long. My teammate Eric and I went out with our translator and at first, we came across several households of believers. We were able to pray with them and encourage them in their walks of faith. One of the last houses we went to was a dark, concrete hut that housed a younger woman. I started into my usual spiel and casually asked her if she knew Jesus.
She said no.
This was my chance- to face my fears and share my faith. I had no idea what to say, but words started cascading out of my mouth as I started to tell her about how much God loves her and how He sent Jesus to die on the cross for her sins. I asked her if she had any questions. All she said was that she wanted to accept Christ as her Savior right on the spot. I led her through a prayer and our translator gave her information on the local church that she could attend for support. I was blown away by the words that the Lord had given me and that He was honoring my leap of faith.
In Lesotho, a woman heard the greatest love story of all times. One new book was added to the most glorious library. The pages of this book are now coming to life with the love of the Savior.
One book was transformed and my own story will never be the same because of it.
