Dear Future World Racer,
Hello, nice to meet you.
I’m not officially on the Race yet, but I know what you’re feeling, because I’ve been there.
I’ve been that person who read multiple blogs in one sitting while debating if this crazy adventure called “The World Race” was really for me.
I’ve been that person who diligently investigated how to fundraise via Racers’ blogs so I didn’t mess it up.
And, yes, I’ve been that person who stalked every squad in the past year’s training camp blogs in order to know what was really going to go down.
I just want to give you some advice:
STOP!
This is coming from an OCD, my-life-in-a-planner-with-everything-coded-by-highlighters, type A woman.
This is coming from a woman who likes to be aware of everything before going into a situation and loves to have knowledge in order to help herself and others.
I went into training camp already knowing about 80% of what I would truly face.
I went into training camp relying on myself and not God.
And I want to challenge you NOT to do this. Because, honestly, the purpose of this all is to learn complete dependence on our King and Savior.
So here is everything you need to know about training camp:
- You will be uncomfortable, pushed, and challenged.
- Everyone is feeling the same, guarantee.
- God is in control—it will be okay.
