It is only day one in Jeffery’s Bay and I’m already learning a lot more about myself and how my journey is going to change me in so many ways. Being in this place is really showing how blessed my team and I are for getting this amazing opportunity to live on the beach for the next month. The water is super clear, there are tiny shells in the soft sand, and there wasn’t a cloud in sight. This place is absolutely gorgeous. Not only are we living in this beautiful place in South Africa but we are so blessed for getting such amazing host on our first month. I can’t even express the love and light they have. Lynden and Anthea are so gracious and welcoming I am so thankful for them. I have never met people who would be willing to let 14 strangers enter their home, cook them dinner, use their water, and gives us rooms to live in. I still can’t fathom what I did to deserve such love and blessings. You can tell just by looking at them that they are great people and want to do anything to help people and that they are doing all of it for the Kingdom.

So on top of this beautiful town and this loving family, we got explore the town today and really take in the culture. Most of my team and I spent a lot of time at the beach today. We just all really want to absorb what was a round us and enjoy the nature and God’s creation, and there was five girls walking on the beach. They stopped and watched us taking pictures and videos. We kept doing what we were doing but they stud there for a good five minutes. They were about 10-14 years old. We started to talk to them and we realized they knew only some English and that they were on vacation from school. They were really sweet. We asked them if they wanted to do what we were doing (which was videoing us ourselves running on the beach) and they wanted too, so we videoed them doing it and they started laughing and really enjoying themselves.

So after that we finally broke the ice and we started playing “sharks and minnows” (which a type of tag almost) and they loved it. Of course they caught all of us within 5 seconds. We started singing songs like we sang “You Are My Sunshine” and they sang a beautiful South African anthem. Then we all started singing “The Lion Sleeps Tonight”. In that moment I was at peace.

I knew I am right where God wanted me. My fireworks were light up and my heart was full. I don’t know these girls stories but I cannot wait to see them again and to build a relationship with them. See right now you are probably getting to barbeque, celebrate freedom, light up some fireworks and sparklers. While I’m here, spending the fourth spreading love to these girls. A firework is lighting up in my heart. I’m burning up about to explode. I can wait to spread Gods love and to let people know who Jesus is. That is good enough for me.

This month is going to be good. God is SO GOOD. I don’t know what is in store for the next 29 days here in Jeffery’s Bay, but I’m so ready to find out. So happy 4th of July, and God Bless!

With Love,

Janelle
