I know its been awhile since you have heard from us so we put together a blog of things that we have learned since we have been gone. We have a list of silly things we have learned or questions we have asked quite frequently. We also wanted to share some not so silly things we have learned/ grown in. Hope you enjoy!
1.Sunscreen is your friend even if it’s cold outside.
2. Don’t bank on having any customer service in most places outside of the U.S.
3. The U.S is the only nation that strives for efficiency.
4. Spicy food is not your friend on travel days.
5. The U.S sucks when it comes to pharmaceutical sales. Most places you can buy anything over the counter and it is extremely cheap.
6. To shower today or not to shower today that is the question?!
7. Clothes dryers don’t exist.
8. There may not be electricity but you can always buy a cold Coca Cola.
9. It is acceptable to wear the same clothes for over half of the week without washing them.
10. Can I flush the toilet paper or not?
11. Do they have toilet paper? Or do I need to bring my own?
12. What is your wifi password?
13. There is more hurry up and wait than the U.S. army in other countries.
14. There is NO such thing as personal space anywhere!
15. Unlimited refills/fountain drinks… there are none!
Now for the more serious section….

1. Plans change. Just because we have expectations/ reservations doesn’t mean that that is how things will play out. Remember that the plans aren’t yours and that things will work out for His will.
2. Don’t put God in a box. You may not think you have anything to say or that you can’t help someone’s situation, but God can use you despite your doubt.
Mallory
1. Times and schedules are not a big deal in the rest of the world. Being a very time/schedule orientated person this was a tough thing to get over but I learned that there is more to life than a schedule.
2. Relationships are more important than things/goals. I have noticed especially in Europe people take the time to actually have a coffee date and sit and talk. They aren’t worried about their phones but the are truly invested in the people around them.
3. God wants you to slow down and take the time to listen to what He has to say. We miss out on so much because we don’t take the time to listen.
