My squad met in San Jose, Costa Rica for a couple days to be poured into by our Squad Leaders, Dani, Abby, and Ryan. I have been so blessed by the wisdom and vulnerability they constantly live in.
One morning, Dani spoke about Fear vs. Faith. She asked us which one we were going to choose.
It got me thinking…
The Israelites were so close to walking into the Promised Land, but their fear kept them from it. Their choice to not trust that God would protect them kept them from it.
How many times in our lives does God have a gift for us and we are too afraid to open it? How many times does he want to show us something beautiful and we are too afraid to look? How many times do we miss a miracle because we are too afraid to ask a stranger if we can pray for him?
This applies to big fear as well as to small fears. God protects during both.
I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to live my life in fear. I walked in fear for so long. Fear of not being perfect, fear of failure, fear of people’s perceptions.
God didn’t make me or you that way. He didn’t make us to hold back because of our many fears.
So I encourage you to step out. I encourage myself to step out. God’s got your back. Don’t worry. See what happens.
Fear or Faith? What are you going to do? Decide now because your life depends on it.
