The battle rages on day in and day out. An ongoing struggle to prevail over the enemy. The war has been going on since The Fall of Man…many a soldier has joined in the warfare and many a soldier have fallen on the battlefield. Some though, prevail in their attack, they stay in constant communication with the General and make their offensive moves according to the transmissions received through Intelligence. Though this battle is ongoing many civilians are not aware of it, this is because it can only be seen when using the gear and tools that the General has given to each of us. Living in a war zone is not a choice, but participating in the battles is. Join us in the defeat of the enemy.

Now that I (hopefully) have your attention, I want to talk in depth about this war zone I have vaguely described to you above. This war zone is of the supernatural type specifically war in the spiritual realm. The bible talks about this in plain terms in Ephesians 6:12, “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.”

I’ve been living in this war zone all of life, but there have only been brief periods of time where I was actively engaged in the warfare up until this year. This trip has opened my eyes to the reality of spiritual warfare. I could have been choosing to walk with open eyes back home (or wherever I was before) but I chose not to. Now I see the battlefield before me and I choose to be on the offense for my God.

I mentioned in the intro some terms that I want to clarify and explain to you:

The war: The fight to raise up soldiers in defeating the enemy and bringing glory to The General
The enemy: Satan
Soldiers: Us believers
The General: God
Offensive moves: Prayer, worship and evangelism
Transmissions: Words or plans that we are called to/given by Intelligence
Intelligence: The Holy Spirit
Gear and tools: The Full Armor of God (Ephesians 6) and prayer

So, in case you didn’t fully understand my intro before, go back and read it by filling in the So, in you didn’t understand words with my new explanations

……..

………….

Alright. You get it now?

We are caught up and living in a war zone.

I am choosing to fight in the war. I choose this by actively seeking God and asking Him what He wants of me. How can I best attack the enemy? What is today’s mission?

Many are not choosing to fight this war. Many are lying dead on the battlefield. I don’t mean physically dead. I mean spiritually dead. They either have never chosen to acknowledge the war or have acknowledged it but have now deserted the mission.

So now they lie dead (figuratively), walking through life without purpose or maybe with only the idea of purpose, they know what it is, but just don’t live it out.

Even though I know there is a war raging on, I sometimes have to remind myself that it is a daily battle I must face. I am on the front lines whether I like it or not, there are fiery arrows coming at me from the enemy (Eph. 6:16)

Let’s wake up! Let’s fill ourselves up in the Spirit! Let’s ask for our eyes to be opened!

God has given us the Full Armor to prepare ourselves and fight the enemy.

  • The belt of truth
  • The breastplate of righteousness
  • The shoes of the gospel of peace
  • The shield of faith
  • The helmet of salvation
  • The sword of the Spirit

Pray. Pray hard for your fellow believers. Pray for your Pastor. Pray for the unsaved. Pray for our world. Pray for our country. Pray against the schemes of the enemy. Pray against the division and distraction that he brings. Prayer is the most powerful weapon in this war zone and the Holy Spirit wants to speak to you.

God has called us to be soldiers in the war. He has given us the proper equipment already and He wants to see us, His sons and daughters stand on the frontline, praying at all times, with all prayer and supplication, and walking in His armor, so that we can withstand the evil one, and even when we’ve done all, to still stand firm.

Are you afraid of what this war zone will look like when you open your eyes? Do not be afraid. God has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power! Of love! And of a sound mind!

Luke 10:19 says, “Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.”

I call you, to get ready, to not fear the war zone or the battles that you will indefinitely face, I call you to say in the face of the enemy that you will stand with your fellow believers, with Christ.

Will you choose to live in the war zone? To fight on the battlefield?
