I guess it takes something like realizing in 365 days I’ll be more than half way through the World Race.

In 365 days I will be in Zimbabwe, Africa.

This is a fact that dawned on me while celebrating with friends last night.

I will have missed out on the annual Independence Day celebrations in 2015.

No BBQ-ing, no fireworks show, no family to hug in thankfulness.

What will remind me of home?

The new family that will be traveling with me.

More than 60 Squad mates on the same mission as myself…

to find Jesus in taking care of the lost

to share His abundant Love with the forsaken

I will be reminded of the States, of our founding fathers, signing a document stating our ‘Declaration of Independence’, a document that not only gave us freedom in 1776, but gives us freedom today.

freedom to travel 10’s of thousands of miles across the world

freedom to spread the Gospel

freedom in Christ

So, in less than 6 months

                            Or

                                    179 days

                                         Or

                                                4302 hours

                                                      Or

                                                               258,132 minutes

                                                                          Or

                                                                                      15,487,800 seconds

I will be leaving the United States of America.

Greeting the great unknown.

As overplayed as the song is, Hillsong UNITED’s song, ‘Oceans’ has been on repeat for the last month.

If it ever had any meaning to me, it’s right now.

(I actually have it playing on my speakers as I type this)

I’m going to add a link so you can hear it, if you haven’t already that is.

Click here to listen to ‘Oceans’ by Hillsong UNITED!

Here’s a portion of the lyrics that have really been speaking to me:

You call me out upon the waters
The great unknown where feet may fail
And there I find You in the mystery
In oceans deep
My faith will stand

And I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise
My soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine

Your grace abounds in deepest waters
Your sovereign hand
Will be my guide
Where feet may fail and fear surrounds me
You’ve never failed and You won’t start now

Please pray about supporting me in this journey.

EVERYTHING COUNTS.

If 100 people could give $11 for 11 months (starting this month), I would be 75% funded.

Blessings and Love,

Katelyn
