There aren’t many words I can use to describe what God has done the past week and half. So here is the story!
I wrote a blog called Help (click here to read) talking about the struggle I have been facing the past month and half. I have been blessed to have amazing Squad mates who shared my blog post to help bring funds in! Who’s friend was touched by my post and then the following happened:
The next day I woke up to comments in which Isai Hurtado said ” I have a dollar for a dollar challenge…” My heart dropped and I couldn’t stop smiling he then proceeded “…I have 1k to give!”
I still couldn’t believe it! I mean, a stranger who had never met me and who knew nothing of me but had ONE thing in common! THE PASSION TO BRING GOD’S WORD TO THE NATIONS! I didn’t know where this was going. So I began spreading the word to friends and family and $595 were donated. I got in contact with Isai and his wife and I told them about it, but God had something in store that I was completely naive about!
As I was telling Isai the amount raised and how much of a blessing him and his family had been and that there weren’t enough Thank You’s in the world to express my gratitude! He explained to me how the devil wants me to second guess my calling! And he mentioned the fishermen, and how they could have come up with dozens of excuses to not follow Jesus! They left their families, jobs, and everything they knew to follow Jesus!!
I have thought about those fishermen and I said to myself when I find myself doubting “they left it all behind to follow Jesus, so I will do the same! Why make excuses?!” after that conversation he said “I will still double what you got, plus $210 more” I had no reaction or words that could describe that moment and I was happy with the results and I wasn’t going to complain about it! HOW COULD I? God had been so good and I responded “God Bless You!! and His hand of righteousness be upon you, your wife, and your soon to be born baby” (YES! THEY ARE ABOUT A FEW WEEKS OF HAVING A BABY! ASIDES FROM THEIR EXPENSES WITH A NEW BABY, THEY WERE DONATING!)
Then he sent me a text with the amount he donated! I COULD NOT BELIEVE MY EYES AND EVEN NOW CAN BRING TEARS OF JOY AND AWE OF GOD’S GOODNESS AND PEOPLE JUST OBEYING HIM! I READ “$1,000 TO GENNESIS DHEMING” I was in shock! He was only supposed to donate $809, but he went above it and donated $1,000!
GOD ANSWERS PRAYERS! HE SAYS ASK AND IT SHALL BE GIVEN, KNOCK AND IT WILL BE OPEN!
