Sarah Bohlman. She is a spunky, outgoing girl who loves life and loves Jesus. She is my extrovert buddy when the rest of the team is having their alone time. She loves dancing, kids, puns, poetry, dancing, cute animals, dancing, and other fun stuff that involves hanging out with other people. She has a strong gift of mercy. She is a good person for me to be around because I am often lacking in the mercy and emotional side of things. She has a big heart for all people, especially those who can’t help themselves. If I could describe Sarah in one word, I would use “Compassionate”.

Joel Steiner. He is full of surprises. We make jokes that he is like a microwave because he will go from 0-100 really fast. You never know what you will get with Joel. He is a very talented graphic designer and artist. He enjoys electronic and alternative music. You can often find Joel with headphones in his ears while drawing something on his iPad. He loves the state of Ohio and is very proud to come from the home of Smuckers Jam. He desires to know God and live in relationship with Him. He has a gift of mercy and is a very gentle, caring man of God. If I could describe him in one word, I would use “Spontaneous”.

Chenea Schacher. She is bubbly and outgoing, and yet, also knows when to be serious. She loves to study, teach, preach and discuss the Bible. She has a strong passion for discipleship. She loves people of all ages, especially the cute and cuddly little ones. She is our team leader and seems to lead us with such ease. She has a gift of relating to people of any kind. It seems like no language barrier, skin color or accent can prevent her from communicating to other people. She asks really good questions which I enjoy trying to answer. If I could describe her in one word, I would use “DEEP”.

Krystle Garwood. She is a tall, long haired, quiet, Montana girl. She loves seafood, traveling, Jesus, kids, taking pictures, and alone time. She is a very creative person with lots of great ideas. She will be doing her sweet, quiet thing and then all of a sudden, throw a burn your way causing everyone to go “Ohhhhh!”. Due to her quietness, it allows her actions to speak very loudly, and she sets an amazing example of what a follower of Jesus looks like. If I could describe Krystal in one word, it would be “Meek”.

Alyssa Trainor. She is a very fun person to be around and brings a calmness to all situations. She is an amazing photographer and has taught me a lot about shooting in manual. If you want to make her really happy, give her some bread, a bag of popcorn and a camera in her hand. She is a hungry soul in search of the more that God has to offer us. Her hunger is contagious. She desires to know more about the Bible so she can teach and preach it. God has changed her life and she wants to spend hers introducing others to Him. If I could describe Alyssa in one word, it would be “Simple”.

Kyle Roetter. He is a blue eyed, bearded wonder, with enough passion to change the lives of millions. I spend a good portion of my days talking with Kyle about God, the Bible, the Church, the future, business ideas and much more. He has a passion to see people come into their true identities as children of God. He loves to teach and preach with a passion to heal people. He loves music. He plays the bass and has been honing his guitar and singing skills during the Race. He has become a very close friend, and I expect to work with him in the future. If I could describe Kyle in one word, it would be “Strong”.
I asked my teammates to write a bit about me as well. This is what they wrote.
Jordan Tarant. He is…
A stunningly beautiful man, with a great beard, a wise mind, and a genuine love for life. He can crack a joke and in the same sentence say something so profound you find yourself caught up in a world of thought and wonder. A great friend. (Kyle)
Someone I can always count on for edifying and fun quality time. His unrelenting and joyful spirit of giving push me to uncomfortable limits, which causes me to both question how giving I actually am and get a taste of how much God loves to give good gifts. His pursuit for the sweetness of life in every situation infallibly causes every atmosphere to shift its focus towards the heavenly. (Sarah)
One of the few proud Canadians on our squad, and by few I mean two. Beware, he likes to ask the “profound” questions that aren’t so easy to answer, he also likes to probe deeper into emotions to better understand them. He loves to gain knowledge and then share that knowledge with others. At the end of the day he is a Canadian with a unquenchable thirst and hunger for God (Joel)
Inspiring. He is humble in seeking after God and in giving Him all the glory. He makes us all think deeper and challenges our hearts in traditions. I also enjoy his dry sense of humor. He’s a joy to have on our team as he shows what it means to seek the goodness of our Abba. (Chenea)
Jordan is a very outgoing person. He can talk and relate to anyone. His knowledge and passion for The Lord is inspiring. He has the gift of giving and let me tell you, it is a beautiful thing to witness the joy it brings him when he gives. If I could describe Jordan in one word, it would be “Passionate”. (Alyssa)
Jordan. Full of surprises from the very beginning. From witty banter to deep conversation, Jordan is prepared for any situation. His desire for Jesus is evident when time spent with him always turns to the things of Jesus. His knowledge and point of view is enlightening and refreshing. If I could describe Jordan in one word it would be “Zesty”. (Ex. Teammate Emily)
