These are the lyrics to a song I wrote on Good Friday – video hopefully to come soon!

“Sunday’s coming”

Silence fell and hope seemed lost

The time had come to count the cost

The world that day was tempest-tossed

Jesus crucified

A man esteemed, a man betrayed

Facing death, his heart was staid

“Not my will, but yours” he prayed

Forsaking all his pride

Sorrow may last through the night

But darkness won’t overcome the light

Sunday’s coming soon

Beaten, bruised, mocked, and scorned

They placed on him a crown of thorns

Prophecy fulfilled that morning

All in perfect plan

They pierced his hands, his feet, his side

“It is finished” he had cried

With one last breath, for us, he died

Son of God and Man

Sorrow may last through the night

But darkness won’t overcome the light

Sunday’s coming soon

Three days, wait, and he will rise

Beloved children, lift your eyes

Sunday’s coming soon
