This has most definitely been a month of firsts for me in many ways. Here are just a few things that I had never done or experienced before this month in Huaticocha (in no particular order):
11). Eaten a giant flying ant (fried, of course)!
10). Taken a bucket bath in complete darkness with only a headlamp by which to see.
09). Washed my hair under a waterfall (& only washed my hair in bodies of water all month)
08). Went cave diving in the amazon rain forest!
07). Gotten stuck up to my mid-calves in mud.
06). Eaten guinea pig (claws attached).
05). Taught english as a second language in a public school.
04). Eaten cacao fruit. Yum!
03). Had to continually move the chicken to be able to get into the bathroom.
02). Had to put two exposed ends of wires together for the light switch in my bedroom.
01). Enjoyed the true lullaby of rain falling on a tin roof as I drift to sleep (and felt a small mist as I lay on the floor getting ready to bed because of it).
