My WordPress suggested I set a timer and write whatever comes to my head for ten minutes. I thought that was a better idea for this blog than for my real life one. So…go.
Part two of travel day(our bus from debrief to our ministry site) was probably my second worst travel day ever. Since my last travel day blog was such a hit(I’m finding that people enjoy my unfiltered thoughts more than my deep, long-been-cooked-on thoughts), I’m working on another one, so I’ll save the whole hilarious story for then.
It was not a hilarious story at the time.
One of our contacts is an alumni Racer AND HE’S BRITISH! And he has an adorable Guatemalan wife. We love them.
Food is so cheap and SO good. Granted I tend to find the most American options on the menu but whatever. My stomach and wallet are both full, so I’m happy. My team makes fun of my picky-ness daily and I love them.
Our ministry will be all over the place. In a good way. This week we’ve been working in a thrift shop and with an after-school program. Sunday is our day off each week and we get to go to church like in normal life. As in, most months we go to church and we’re helping lead the service, which we love, but sometimes it’s nice to just get to rest and soak in God’s presence without being in charge.
That was a short ten minutes…I love my team too much and can’t stop talking to them, so I keep interrupting my thoughts. I’m going to cheat and keep on for a bit more.
Again, my team is wonderful. Being with all girls is like my summers working at camp, except instead of talking about each other all day, we get feedback and fix things and love each other twice as much for it.
Because it’s almost Christmas(13 DAYS yall) and we’re all homesick, we took our wool socks that we don’t need in the hot weather and hung them on the wall. And we’re fixing to watch Home Alone.
We never have to be at ministry earlier than 10am, so I’m actually getting to sleep in AND have Jesus time and not be sleepwalking through my day.
Some people are sad to be in a hot climate on Christmas, but after 5 months of Christmas weather, I have zero complaints.
Now my ten minutes are really up.
PS, I still need $3600 in 20 days! You should click that “Support me” link at the top of the page if you want to keep hearing my thoughts from around the world instead of from my living room.
