(Warning this is kind of lengthy- its all the things we want bathed in prayer for our trip. We are wanting to get prayer partners and each commit to praying for one specific thing from the list until we are back. If you are interested email me and I'd love to get your info/email and will check off what you'd like to pray for. We will also update you on prayer request during our trip.)
Prayer Request for Mission Trip
For the team-
We are praying Ephesians 4:1-3 specifically over our team which says,
“Walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”
- Unity
- Each member to have sound doctrine
- Against-gossiping, division, sickness, and for the single people to not have feelings for each other- we have a strict no dating policy and we know that when this happens it can cause division in a team and take their eyes off of the main purpose
- Spiritual warfare- please pray against whatever Satan has planned
- Our host families-that we can be a blessing to them and an encouragement.
- Our devotion times and Sabbaths- it’s vital that we all have our alone time with God and a day of rest to spend with Him and be filled by His Spirit so we can pour into others.
- Feedback and team time- each day we have prayer and feedback(where we give encouragement and constructive “feedback”). Pray we all say things in love and that led by God- and that we each have hearts to receive what is said and to really examine ourselves daily.
- Pray for our ministry…it will be different in every country and I’m sure will be outside of our comfort zones- pray that we will be examples of the Lord, will work well as a team, and that people will come to know Jesus because of our love.
- We function well as a team
- We will be selfless
- Our hearts to be prepared and to have His heart/eyes/mind
Finances
- We are 3/4ths of the way there!!! Praise Jesus!- Still need the last 1/4th of the funds.
- After that we still need our vaccines- which are at the least $1000 each. Think we are opting out of most of the recommended ones due to them being so expensive
- Flights to and from launch
- International phone plans
- AIM recommends we each have personal spending money about $100-200 per person/month. We are definitely wanting to have this for a date night each week, and a weekend to ourselves every couple months. (to protect our marriage) Also anything extra like snacks would come from this.
- Travel Medical Insurance
- We are renting out our Mobile home while we are gone- praying for a Christian renter who preferably doesn’t have pets.
Our Marriage on the Mission trip
We know it will be great in some way- we get to serve together side by side for 11 months! But we also know it will be hard due to living with 5 other people all the time and not always getting to have a room to ourselves.
Here are some specifics we would like bathed in prayer.
- Unity
- Alone time- our personal goal is an hour a day of just us, one date night per week, and a weekend every couple of months
- Boundaries with the opposite sex on our teams. We have to be open and vulnerable with our team, but we want to always be more vulnerable with each other than with our teammates.
- On that note- pray against being envious
- We each find time to get alone time with Jesus- we know when we are right with Him we are usually right with each other J
- To be selfless and look out for the other
- Our parents
- Against sickness(esp in Drew’s case, he doesn’t handle their food well from past experiences, and Maggie has been sick the last couple of months trying to get her medicines adjusted)
- Good sleep-(Maggie’s been having back pain and we are going to sleep on sleeping pads on the floor for a yr)
- For us to be filled with the Holy Spirit continually
- To be a good example of God and the church by showing our team what a Loving Christian marriage should look like
- For Drew to love Maggie like Christ loves the church
- For Maggie to always love, respect, and obey Drew
- We have marriage coaches/counselors – pray that our time in counseling each month is fruitful/beneficial
