It seemed like my life was being put together.

I graduated college. Served out two international internships.

Got a job with a consulting firm that more than paid the bills.

Lived in a downtown loft in a very large city.

Had a great church and great friends.

But it was all worthless.

Nothing mattered.

My life was progressing, but I wasn’t feeling any more fulfilled than I did before. I didn’t discover potential through my degrees. I didn’t find deep purpose for my life in my job. I didn’t find true joy in my downtown loft. My life wasn’t changed.

Enter the World Race.

If something is going to change my life…this has to be it! The World Race will change my life.

Wrong.

I thought that by coming on the World Race, I would experience a deeper relationship with HIM. When that didn’t automatically happen, I was a little frustrated.

“I’ve given up everything. I’ve literally given up everything to follow You across the world. I have nothing left…so You have got to give me something!”

Then He responded “Stop. Stop doing things, and just rest in me. Give me you.”

And then it hit me. This has nothing to with the World Race. It’s only a catalyst for what Papa is trying to reveal to me! Rest has nothing to do with the environment around us, but with the Holy Spirit inside us. You don’t have to be proactive about finding rest. It’s not action-based. You don’t need to ‘find’ rest. He said that He will give it to us. Just receive it.

Seek Him, no matter where you are or what you are doing. This creates momentum. It helps us to see past what is in front of us, and to see what is ahead of us, to see your potential, your purpose.

His potential. His purpose.
