These last few weeks I have been making a point to focus more on the Holy Spirit. I have been discovering who He is and what He wants to accomplish through me in order to be more like Jesus. This has been difficult. Up until this point, I have, sadly, never really understood exactly how the Holy Spirit is relevant in my life. My friend Chelsea, who I didn’t know very well, who I have had the privlege of getting to know these past few weeks (a little too well…Twister), has really helped to open up my eyes to the Holy Spirit. She’s a World Racer. Makes sense, right?

So, I started trying to learn as much about the application of the Holy Spirit that I could. Then, I started to test what I was learning about Him. So, on Sunday, I began praying to the Holy Spirit (I know, it was weird!).

“Give me something specific today.
Anything, just show me something specific!”

Then at lunch with friends, I just had a very strange urge and burden to open up my Bible. So of course I got out my phone. And I just turned straight to Mathew 6. Without a doubt, I knew I needed to turn to Mathew 6. I read through it and I got nothing. I read through it again. I got nothing. I was confused, so I read through it again, and then looked around the table, and spotted someone that I had only met a few weeks ago. The Holy Spirit wasn’t giving ME something, He was giving someone at the table something that He wanted them to know THROUGH me. At that moment, everything came together. The Holy Spirit led me to share this passage for someone at the table. I told the person, and it was awesome.
It was so cool, that I tested it out again today! I say tested it out, but it’s not like it’s a used car…but it’s like i’m getting my license for the first time. I prayed for a specific person that I could minister to today, and the Holy Spirit gave me a person, and two very specific words to share with them. I didn’t know what they would mean to that person, but that part is not my job!

For those of you who know me…this is definitely not something that I do. This is very charismatic for me, but i’m so excited to learn to be more like Jesus!

“Pursue love, and earnestly desire the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy to people words of encouragment and consolation so that they may be built up.”
– 1 Corinthians 14:1-3

I would encourage and challenge you to really allow the Holy Spirit to lead you towards living a life that is so like Jesus, that you will never be the same. Feel free to comment on this, I would love to hear your thoughts!

Thanks for your support! You are changing the world!
God Bless.
