I flew home to Michigan from Florida on Friday. I left a grey, rainy Florida day only to enter an even more grey day in Michigan.

The lady I was sitting next to said to me, "I want to go back to Florida. At least the sun is still shining there."
I said to her, "I asked God for one day of sunshine while I'm here."

She seemed satisfied with that response and leaned back in her seat. Saturday morning came around and the sun was shining SO bright. It was like a miracle!

I was in the car with my mom and she said to me, "Did you bring the sunshine with you from Florida?"
I said, "No, but I prayed for one day of sunshine."
She said, "Only one day? Why didn't you pray for them all?"

So far, in my trip, this was the best, most convicting conversation. Let me explain.

Last Sunday, my pastor preached from Joshua 10:1-15, where Joshua was in battle and needed the sun to stay in the sky so that he could win the battle. He prayed for the sun to stand still, a seemingly impossible prayer. But guess what? God did it.

My pastor continued to say that we need to be more faithful and believe that God will answer our prayers. We need to be bold in our prayers. It just struck me that I thought I was being bold with asking for one day of sun, when really, it would have been better to pray for every single day.

God, help me to be bold!
