I wanted to start off with a post that my roommate put on my facebook wall because I thought it was hilarious.
I attempted to get a full eight hours of sleep last night, and I'm very happy to report that it almost happened.
After failing to get a good night's rest last night, I found out three of my mistakes:
1. The first night I didn't have on a long-sleeve shirt. I found out last night that this is necessary. The sleeping-bag-insert moves around and with it taking it warmth.
2. I need to find a comfortable position and stick with it. Or find two. But three is too many. If you change sleeping positions more than twice, you're awake half the night.
3. Shorts or pants doesn't make a difference since the sleeping-bag-insert doesn't slip off of this portion of my body.
One mistake that still happened was a loud ice-maker-machine-is-malfunctoning-like noise. Thishappened because of the material on my sleeping pad moving against the material of my tent. I will try to remedy this tonight.
More than anything, I have learned that (even though my eye won't stop twitching because of self-inflicted sleep deprivation) this was a great idea. I think I know how to fix all my problems… and I still have seven months before I leave for my world race. I would definitely recommend trying this at home.
VICTORY!
