The second part in my Tell the Story Series involves the story of a young man names Suraj,  whom I met in Nepal.

Born and raised in Nepal, Suraj like the majority of other Nepalese people grew up Hindu, worshipping and believing in their GODs. "I grew up fighting, smoking and drinking" Suraj said to me, "I was what you might call a gangster".  Around the age of 19 Suraj had a friend invite him to church, and it was there that he accepted Christ.

"I found out that I liked JESUS better than the other GODs.  His Love was something that drew me in" states Suraj. After accepting Christ his life changed, but GOD had even bigger plans for his new found relationship. While playing football one afternoon he met Pastor Reuben Rai, the head pastor of Nepal Church's Network. "I already knew he was a pastor, and that intrigued me, so I decided to visit his church".

The next sunday Suraj visited the church and was forever changed. GOD built a strong relationship between him and Pastor Rai, that grows stronger and stronger. We first hand witnessed this all month while working with Nepal Church's network, and Pastor Reuben Rai. Suraj is part of the family. His hard work and dedication to the LORD and the ministry blessed us all so much during our stay there. Suraj currently serves as a youth leader, and bible student. He also participated in Sports ministry, and will continue to do so.

"I love JESUS, I love salvation. The change that JESUS has brought in me is awesome, I don't do the things i used to do".

When i asked Suraj where did he see himself 10 years from now he replied " I see myself right here in Nepal. Doing lots of GODs work in every area, and bringing friends and relatives to Christ. If it is GODs will I will stay in Nepal and bring change here".

Ad I totally agree. Nepal needs young passionate believers to flip the less than 2% and multiply, and I believe Suraj is one of the people to do that for the glory of the LORD. He also plans to get married soon to a beautiful young woman currently visiting her sister in India. He showed me her picture and told me their story, a match made beautifully!

I asked Suraj one last question. I asked if with all the persecution facing the believers in Nepal, and the pastors was he afraid? His response, a simple "No". And i totally believe it, there was no explanation needed, I can totally see the LOVE and boldness he carries for JESUS. It was an inspiration to me all month.
