Today everything really started to feel real…we got our launch date! We will be flying from LAX (Los Angeles, California) to Guatemala on Thursday, October 6th. We’ve been waiting a long time to figure out the exact day and now it’s time to begin packing up our apartment and booking our flights. Our first few days will consist of some additional training in Antigua, Guatemala and we can’t wait to return to the place that captured our hearts years ago. I think it will feel a bit like going home – with that familiar comfort of knowing where the good places are to eat and how to get to the local market.
So, in 47 days we will leave everything behind to pursue this adventure that God has brought us to! We are incredibly excited to bring hope and love to those in need and we are so grateful for everyone who has helped make this possible. We are currently 40% funded (not including monthly pledges). We only need $600 to reach our next goal (September 12th) but $12,423 overall.
