We have officially met and surpassed our first fundraising goal – $6000! We are so incredibly thankful for everyone who has chosen to support us thus far and we pray that you will be blessed. Support raising is one of the biggest challenges of the World Race because asking people for money is not an easy thing to do. It’s hard to believe that two people could raise $30,000 to sustain them and their travels around the world for 11 months. Well… we can’t! This journey involves so many more people and we are so grateful for them.

On June 11th we had a “treasure sale” in Orillia which raised $1300. Nobody thought we would get that much and we couldn’t have done it without all the generous people who donated their stuff, the family who let us use their property and our family who helped with set-up and sales. Thank you!!

It’s hard to describe how incredible it feels to receive support – friends who have been selling my heat packs, strangers who ask inquisitive questions, friends of friends who give surprise donations. There are just so many wonderful stories of people’s astonishing generosity! Here’s a couple of examples we’d like to share with you:

– a 16 year old who works part-time at McDonalds gave $550

– a lady we JUST MET at the end of the garage sale who we chatted with for a couple of minutes about missions returned 5 minutes later with a check for $250

Thank you to EVERYONE – to those of you who have passed our story along, donated things, purchased heat packs or jewelry, prayed for us, or supported us by giving $10 or $1000. We are so grateful for every single one of you!!

We only need $5000 more to meet the next deadline in mid-September and in order to be fully funded we need $21,600. Please subscribe to our blog by entering your email address on the left hand side of this page to hear about upcoming fundraisers and our journey to training camp July 2nd – 10th.
