A few months ago I began the search for a new bible….and failed miserably. I know, I know..this sounds like an extremely random story I’m about to tell you, but just hang in there. I looked up and down the inter webs and came up short (and frustrated). I was tired of not finding the things I wanted, the style I wanted, and more importantly something that fit my budget. And that was when God downloaded the idea to me to just do it on my own. I became flooded with ideas of leatherwork for bibles, journals, cases, wallets, and hopefully more in the future. Over the past few months it became a place of peace and worship for me to begin building things with my hands.
Worship was always a huge thing for me once I did the race. Not only in the musical sense, but of how I live my everyday. Worship how I work, worship how I create, and worship how I build..all goes to the glory of God. I wanted to be able to keep that heartbeat and share it with anyone who was interested. And that was when God gave me the idea to name it Willows & Arrows and more importantly to give a portion of the earnings away.
Willows are a free flowing tree that shows growth and life. The way that God moves through us…just how the wind blows through a willow. Arrows when pulled back create the greatest tension (are scary if they break), but shoot you the furthest to your destiny. And crossed arrows mean friendship (with God). I LOVE the natural side of things (of course since it’s all leather work). I love imperfections, it shows character and that it’s hand made individually. I love the simplicity of it all as well.
Like I said, a portion of the earnings will be going towards racers that are launching out on the field with the World Race. The World Race was a huge reason for why I even started my walk with Jesus and something that I believe in whole heartedly. If you have any questions, I would love more than anything to chat it!
