Welcome to Thailand.
A whole new aspect of life I just entered.
We go from Central America knowing some of the language, and more easily accessible to getting around. Having normal toilets, Etc.
To not knowing a single word or how to communicate.
Having squatty potties!
It was quite the show trying to have the tuk- tuk driver come and pick us up, also asking if what we are eating is chicken, pork or fish.
With Thai there are 44 characters to the Thai alphabet and 5 different tones.
So one word can have 5 different meanings.
We’ve made the mistake a few times. Luckily they knew what we were trying to say.
Hilarious to say the least.

This month we are in Phitsanulok, Thailand. It is 5 hours north of Bangkok.
So far I have been in an orphanage, did a summer camp with neighborhood kids and I partnered with a church and did things with their youth group.
This month we are with youth age kids but it’s nowhere in a church or orphanage.
We are here hanging out with the skateboarders and break-dancers on the street.
Every night these kids get together and just do what they love to do most!

They all speak Thai and a few speak broken English but not enough to carry on a full conversation.
So we end up becoming the master of charades with conversing. A quick 2 minute convo can take up to 10 min with us trying to get our point across.
It’s actually quite funny and makes the experience more enjoyable.
Now we have a translator with us and less with the charades.

The relationships we are building here speak more life than if we came here with any agenda.  The fact that Americans can come, and just focus on their hobbies and gain an interest in what they enjoy doing is life changing.

I am excited to apart of an organization that has something different everywhere you go. The fact that I get to go around the world and experience this is mind blowing.

Living day by day. And taking in everything thrown at me. It’s the only way to go.
As on of our contacts said in Month 2- Live for the moment and don’t miss the opportunity. These are words I have been living by ever since he said that.
How I don’t want to miss anything God has for me while being an open vessel to Him.
