It's amazing how the LORD takes my plans and throws them out the window.
This morning I had planned to take a day trip with the rest of my squad to relax and spend some time shopping for souvenirs.
I woke up extremely excited to have a day of rest and had hoped to spend some time on the Internet, catching up with blogging and skyping, maybe even a little facebooking.. But of course, God knows so much more than I do about what sort of rest I was really in need of..
During a squad meeting this morning, we were informed that one of the women that Tony and Nidia (our contacts) have been helping, was sick in the hospital, with what they thought was stomach cancer. After prayerful consideration, it was a pretty unanimous decision that we would change our plans in order to visit the hospital and pray for this woman who was sick.
We spent the entire day outside of the hospital RESTING IN THE HOLY SPIRIT, praying, worshipping, sharing scripture and asking God to heal this womans body, to bring her home to her children. And after hours of crying out to The LORD, our prayers were answered! We were informed that Mabel did NOT have cancer, and that she was going to be released from the hospital TODAY!!
What an incredible experience it was to see my brothers and sisters come together in praising the LORD, and to see just how powerful prayer can be! Praise be to God for all of the amazing things that are happening and are still to come!
