The past few nights I have been privileged to receive a glimpse into true community. It is something that many of us strive for but rarely live out or embrace.
In community there is no room for selfishness or hidden agendas. It is a place where CHRIST is at the center and the flesh withers away as the Spirit takes control.
It is a place of brutal honesty and raw emotions. Where positive feedback and constructive feedback are given and received with loving and grateful hearts. Where prophetic words and visions are shared, embraced, and lived out.
Community is dying to self and living for others. It is letting go of all that holds us back so we can take hold of the indescribable and supernatural things that Christ has in store for us. It is sharing in communion, worship, scripture and prayer. All things that speak truth, life, and love into one another. Where tears, worries and fears are released as we are being emptied only to be filled up again.
It is something that God desires for all of His children to experience and and be a part of.
As I said at the beginning, I only received a taste into this type of community, but I hunger for more and more. It does not come easy or without complication but it is more than worth it. I thank God that I have been blessed to see a small portion of what He has in store for myself and my team. I anticipate the day when this type of community is the norm and seclusion and selfishness are no more.
This is nothing less than the Church that Christ had in mind.
