Welcome to The Kingdom of Cambodia

I like this place, as a place, already more than Thailand. . . I hope the people here blow me away too! It’s been a bit hectic the past week getting across the boarder, debrief with our whole squad, and trying to get visas for Vietnam and India, however, we are safe and sound and falling back into a bit more of a schedule.

I’ve been in Cambodia for almost a week now and have enjoyed countless
 cultural experiences. . .

Let’s start with transportation: Green light. . really means it’s everyone’s turn to go. . I found this out as I was riding my bike (yes this month we get bikes) with Carrie on the back of me and a bus, a LARGE 50 passenger bus pulls out in front of me causing me to stop dead in the middle of the intersection as motor bikes, cars, tuk-tuks and other bikes fly past me. AWESOME.

Food: I’ve eaten a bug. Not just ANY kinda bug, but this bug was a cross between a grasshopper and a roach, yep. . I gagged twice as it’s legs were scratching my throat on their way down. . and flakes of body parts were stuck in my teeth but. . I managed to keep it down! I might be pretty hard core. It’s that Fearlessness coming out. . ha ha (video/pictures to come!)

Spiders: As we stopped on our way back from Phnom Penh I for some reason thought it’d be a great idea to hold one of those big spiders . . . Tarantulas. . yep. . I allowed it to crawl on me. . I may have been shaking. . but nonetheless I held it (Video/pictures to come!) *P-wee you’ll love this one. . ha

Bus: We were able to take a bus ride to Phnom Penh. It was about 6 hours or so. . on a half dirt half concrete road with the soothing sound of the bus horn the ENTIRE trip. . In Cambodia, again, traffic is everywhere and this includes COWS, Chickens, babies, bike, etc. . The rule is. . the bigger car/thing has the right away. . so the bus driver honks. . and honks. . and honks. . to tell everyone else to get out of the way. ha ha and it starts. . Month 2 Cambodia.

Fearless.
ha Let’s see what else this month brings!
