In case you don't know what The Walking Dead is, it's a relatively "new" TV show on AMC about zombies.  Yes, another zombie show with groups of people fighting for survival while the rest of the world seems to be damned by flesh-eating humans who have lost their minds due to a "virus".  Why is this type of show so popular especially among people my age or younger?  Is it due to people's desire of adventure, survival, or need for ultimate comradery?  Do people watch shows like these to feed their deep down hunger for those things what I've just mentioned?  Just a few questions to throw at you to make you think.

Personally, I have not been so "consumed" by such shows or movies.  The age-old question of "what's your zombie plan?" is rather a nuisance to me.  There are "zombie apocolypse survival packs" for people to buy out there.  Seriously?  Have people been so consumed into reasoning that they hope/desire it to be a reality?  Some of you agree, many others are saying "it's just a show and joke dude, chill", and there are probably some of you who already have your zombie plan all figured out to the smallest detail with bunkers/storage of food and ammo.

Alright, so the main point of all this previous rambling is to bring up an idea that came across my mind.  The term The Walking Dead hit my mind like a wall of revelation the other day.  There are 2 parts, and the first is along the lines of "there are many people and areas that I view as "dead" due to an unseen attack of depravity linking to a lack of life".  Is that complicated to grasp?  Think of this in other ways.  You have heard and might have said the term "that part of town is dead" or "there's nothing to do do here" (insinuating there is no life and thus resolving to it being dead).  Yes, you can certainly call this the horrible J-word…Judging.  Yet, one can feel and hear from others life or death that is coming off of them.  One's actions certainly show it too, even if it's just a slight glimpse.

I'm trying my best to not complicate my train of thought to you, the reader, and myself.  In our lives, there are times when we just feel dead on the inside.  It could be a result from a plethora of different things in our lives.  Death in the family, a loved one suffering with a disease, loss of job, loss of house, and etc.  We almost feel "zombie-like"….shell-shock anyone?  Do you understand where I'm going with this?  I'm simply sharing with you that we do have The Walking Dead in our daily lives, whether ourselves or others around us.  It is from attacks of the enemy to keep us down.  He's known as an accuser and deceiver.

Pripyat, Ukraine.  A completely abandoned city after the Chernobyl accident.

Many people don't realize or understand why or where the "deadness" is coming from.  I feel like I'm running around the term we call…depression. Get to the root of it!  Where are those thoughts coming from?  I challenge you to rebuke them!  It's a mental and spiritual warfare going on within each of us.

2 Cor. 10:5 "We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ".

This is just my first train of thought to share with you, challenge your ways of thinking with simply a name of a popular TV show, and encourage you wherever you may be in life.  You might already be thinking ahead of where this topic can also lead, which I'll have a 2nd part of this blog topic soon.  Hope you've enjoyed reading and please share.  Thanks!
