Yei is in the South-western part of the country near Congo and Uganda
There are 100+ kids ranging from 3-17 who have no dad, mom, or solid role model at this orphanage. Several have the horrific stories you hear in the news of death and disease in a far-away land, but it really happened to them. I am going to apply my skills of teaching health, activities, and more to build relationships with these children and care for them. God has given me a HUGE heart for those in needy situations, especially youth/kids who are dying for attention. There is so much potential in this area for growth. God is looking for a counter-part to be His hands and feet, and this could be anywhere.
We need your prayer. God hears them, and your words which are spoken battle the enemy. I can spiritually feel and see the darkness over this area we are going, but there's also a light. The locals who know God are such great examples of those being severly persecuted and still faithful toward God. Those who we're working with in Yei earnestly love God with all their might. It will be a challenge, but one I am excited to embark upon. Again, we need your support through prayer.

Now for the uneasy part people don't like to talk about. Financially, I need $22,000 for the entire trip (18-months). I'm not begging, I'm asking for your help. I can not do this on my own. It costs $900 per month for food, lodging, transportation, and communication. Since the country is landlocked and there's inflation of certain materials, prices are higher than expected. Within the $22,000 I also need to raise a start up cost of $4,500, which covers Visas, airfare, bicycle, and basic housing needs (furniture & kitchen supplies). This budget gives us some room to purchase materials to use while working with the kids at the orphanage. I will going through the reputable organization Adventures in Missions.
Please Share, Pray, or Donate. ANY amount helps. If you look through this blog, and you will see incredible stories how God has already worked through supporters all over the World. These things don't happen without people such as yourself. Whether you mention this trip in a casual conversation, or make your own simple fundraiser with your friends to help me out, all will and is tremendously appreciated.
